Rachel Finch gives her pantry a makeover

Rachael Finch may have an Instagram page dedicated to healthy meals and exercise regimes, but the mum-of-two has just showed off her handy organisation skills.

The 31-year-old has transformed her cluttered pantry into a walk-in cupboard that makes it much easier to find something – and the makeover has left followers in awe.

Best of all, Finch overhauled the cramped space into a practical area using affordable products from Ikea – totalling around $400.

“It’s pretty much a mess,” Finch said in a video shared on Instagram as she gave viewers a glimpse of the pantry before the transformation.

“I do appreciate having this much room but it would be nice to just organise things a little bit better and get things under control.”

Finch said she was after a chic space with plenty of shelving and storage, opting for a $300 Ivar shelving unit with wooden, natural textures and tones.

The former Miss Universe Australia also used a variety of dirt cheap items, including Ikea’s $10 Knagglig wooden crates to store unopened bulk items and $2 glass jars.

She then got to work and removed everything out to make way for her stylish new shelving which she installed and organised with the help of a few friends.

Finch pointed out the pantry was odd in shape and had the shelving customised to fit accordingly.

“Welcome to my new pantry. I’m so excited very happy with the end result,” she said as she showed off the new lush space inside her $1.65 million Waterloo penthouse apartment.

“Everything in here we wanted to be as functional as possible so things I use every single day I wanted to be at eye level, so my herbs, spices, salt pepper and oil are all in an easy to reach space.”

“Most of the food is stored in glass containers so I can actually see what is in it,” she added.

Finch also put up hooks on a wall to keep net bags where she was planning to store vegetables such as potatoes and onions.

Her followers praised the budget spruce up, saying it looked “so good”.

“Looks amazing Rach,” one said, while another jokingly asked if she could come and do theirs.

The wellness influencer, who is also the founder of health and fitness program Body by Finch, has also been giving fans plenty of workout tips to keep active during isolation.

She often shares her at-home training routines and most recently splurged on a $12,000 custom-built infra-red sauna which she claims to be one of the “best investments” she’s ever made for her health.

Rachael said she has regular 20-minute sessions in the sauna, claiming it “eliminate heavy metals and harmful toxins” from her body.

“I sleep better. I feel better (and) I’m a better wife,” she said.

Rachael is married to her former Dancing With The Stars partner, Michael Miziner, and they have two children – Violet, six, and Dominic, three.
