Aldi issues urgent recall for common item sold at supermarket
Aldi is urgently recalling a common item sold at its stores over fears it could cause death or serious injury.
A USB power point sold at Aldi is being recalled over fears it could be fatally faulty.
Weak contacts found within the WorkZone Double USB Power point mean that there is a risk of serious injury or death from fire or electrocution.
The product was sold from May 27 to August 4 in Aldi stores across the country.
Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the product and check if it is affected by the recall.
Affected products have model numbers RPOD10U-AA and RPOD10U-AC and affected batch numbers are either 05/2023 or 07/2023
To find these numbers, the faceplate of the power point must be removed — they can be found in the centre of the device.
Those who have purchased products affected by the recall can return the product to any Aldi store for a full refund or a free replacement.
