$39 Kmart item shoppers have been waiting ‘weeks’ to purchase

If a Kmart shopper wants a particular item, then they will make sure they get it – even if it involves weeks of “stalking” to snag it.

Kmart mum reveals item she’s been ‘stalking’

We all know what happens when Kmart shoppers want a certain product – they often sell out not long after being shared on social media.

And it appears this mum’s TikTok video has caused a similar frenzy.

In her post, which has been viewed more than 117,000 times, Rach, from the Hunter Valley, reveals she has been “stalking” the retailer’s website for weeks hoping to nab its $39 Short Locker item.

The product, which comes in three colours, is designed to keep documents and other valuables safe and secure, as stated on the Kmart website.

However, the mother-of-three – along with several other shoppers – have discovered plenty of other ways it can be used.

Taking to TikTok, Rach who goes by the handle @travellingwithtoddlers, shared a video of the product having finally arrived at her doorstep.

“I got the little short lockers for the kids’ toy room,” she said in the clip.

“I just wanted them to have to put their school bags in because I’m sick of their backpacks scattered all over the house.”

The mum, who bought the lockers in the three different colours – pink, blue and mustard – said that while she struggled to assemble the first one, it became a lot easier with the final two.

“The first one took a couple of goes, but by the time I got to the pink and the blue it was a pretty quick job,” Rach said.

“They were $39 each and I am really happy with how they’ve turned out.”

While it comes with two shelves, the mum said she didn’t bother with the middle shelf as she wanted to fit the backpacks in.

She also said she nearly gave up after the website showed it to be out of stock for weeks.

Others bombarded her post saying they too have struggled to nab the popular item after seeing it online.

“I want these but always says out of stock,” one woman wrote.

“They are so beautiful! OMG,” another commented, while a third added: “Love this so much!”

After seeing the mum’s post, some immediately jumped onto the retailer’s website and were lucky to nab the item.

“Thank you just bought a tall and short!” another Kmart shopper wrote.

The locker comes in a taller version for $89 with the bronze colour an online exclusive.

But while fellow mums were impressed with her idea to use it as backpack storage, others suggested it could come in handy as a snack cupboard, as it also comes with a (handy) lock.

“I need to get one of these for my room to put snacks in it. And then I can lock it up so one steals ’em,” one person said.

Others who have managed to get their hands on the bigger version said they use it for makeup supplies, while others joked both sized lockers are ideal for hiding snacks.

“I have the tall locker for my makeup storage and it’s so good!” said another.

One woman said it can also be used as an entertainment TV unit, to which Rach responded: “Yes it’s set up in the lounge room at the min until I rearrange the toy room. I love the pop of colour it’s adding in there, might leave it!”

She also added she uses the pink locker for her toddler’s daycare supplies.

“Oh now you have me convinced,” a fellow mum responded.
