Fan heaters sold at hundreds of electrical and home stores around the country are being recalled because of fire danger.
Fan heaters sold at hundreds of stores around the country for five years are being urgently recalled because they are a fire danger.
The Olimpia Splendid Australia heaters were recalled by Product Safety Australia and Energy Safe Victoria on Friday.
They were sold at hundreds of stores from July 2019 to June 2024.
The heaters were sold at Harvey Norman, Good Guys, Bi-Rite Electrical, and Betta Electrical/Home Living across Australia.
Smaller stores and some independent retailers also sold the fans; the full list can be seen here.
Consumers are entitled to a full refund when the item is returned to the store it was purchased from.
The affected models are the Caldo Relax, with the code number 99316, and the Caldo Whisper, code number VH-2000.
“This product does not comply with the relevant electrical standard. The heater may overheat and catch fire,” the recall notice states.
“There is a risk of serious burn injury and property damage if the heater overheats and catches fire.”
People should stop using the fans immediately and unplug them.
