Aldi brings back cult $249 thermo cooker
It’s the cult kitchen appliance that can retail for more than $700, but Aldi is selling it for a fraction of the price, even beating its own price from last year.
Aldi fans, get excited, because the German retailer is bringing back its popular thermo cooker.
Shoppers will stampede for a good Aldi dupe and next week’s catalogue sees a familiar product back in the centre aisle on March 12 for just $249 – so you’d better get ready.
Similar versions on the market retail for more than $700.
Last year, Aldi had a slightly different thermo cooker, but this year’s release is $50 cheaper.
Home cooks have taken to Facebook to rave about the budget release following its sell-out in 2021 and insisted it works just as well as pricier alternatives.
“OMG yes! I will be lining up at my local Aldi,” one excited shopper wrote on Facebook.
Others said the Aldi cooker “does what it needs to do”.
“Great as an entry before maybe getting an expensive Thermomix,” one woman added.
The $249 2L appliance comes with 10 different settings including saute, emulsify, puree, mix and knead.
It also has an adjustable timer, temperature settings and built-in electronic scales.
If owners are stuck for cooking ideas, it comes with a recipe book. It also has a measuring cup, steamer basket, bowl, lid, stirring attachment and spatula.
With the pulse function and ice crush function, you can also make drinks and cafe-quality smoothies.
The thermo cooker will hit stores on Saturday, March 12, as part of Aldi’s Special Buys – and only while stocks lasts.
“Stocks are limited and will vary between stores,” Aldi stated on its website.
“Despite our careful planning, we apologise if selected items may sell out on the first day due to unexpected high demand.
“In the event of unexpected high demand, Aldi Stores reserves the right to limit purchases to reasonable quantities.”
