THE ultimate dating game rule is that women should date as many guys as they want. Why not? Guys do it all the time, says Lucy Watson.

DATING is complicated in the 21st century and reality TV star and blogger Lucy Watson has had her fair share of heartache.

The UK star of BAFTA award-winning lifestyle show Made in Chelsea reveals experiences of serial cheaters, public betrayals and sex scandals in her new book, The Dating Game.

She advises women to always let guys make the first move.

“I’m all for empowerment, but biologically men need to chase women. It’s part of their chemical make-up.”

Her rules for texting include: keep texting brief; don’t reply to text messages straight away and never text more than twice in a row.

WHAT ARE THE DATING DEAL BREAKERS?

Here is her advice on preparing for the first date with the new man in your life:

1. Go for drinks, not supper.

Organise to go for a drink first. If you are getting on well, then go for supper. You don’t want to rock up to a restaurant and have to endure hours of awkwardness till the bill arrives. So, always do a test drink first.

2. Try to keep yourself busy.

Otherwise you’ll totally overthink it. Try to distract yourself as much as possible beforehand.

3. Look good without overdoing it.

Although kind of obvious, it will massively boost your confidence. On a first date I would wear jeans, or smart trousers, with a cool top and heels. You want him to be looking at your face not staring at your body. He can discover the rest of you as time goes on.

4. It’s either legs or boobs.

Show off your best assets but not at the same time. Yes, you will get guys if you dress provocatively, but they’ll be the kind of guys who are only after one thing …

5. Smell good.

Pack your handbag with perfume and mints. It’s scientifically proven that scent stimulates a man’s attraction. Smell good, but don’t drown yourself in it.

6. Don’t wear lots of make-up on a first date.

You don’t want to start off wearing lots of makeup, and then gradually pare it back, date by date, because eventually he will wake up to you, and be like, who the hell are you? If looking natural isn’t good enough for him, then he isn’t even vaguely good enough for you. End of.

7. D on’t wear a bright lipstick on a date.

Just in case you want to kiss him, you don’t want the awkwardness of having to wipe it off your face. Or worse getting it all over your teeth.

8. Plan an escape route.

Just in case. I always make a plan with one of my friends to call me with an escape route during the date. I can then choose whether I take it up or not! But make sure you have some phone signal. Basements mean zero signal and zero escape route.

9. Don’t turn up drunk.
