Wolf moon 2022: How astrological event will affect your relationship
If you’re feeling a strong urge to “let go” of your relationship right now, you’re not alone – there’s a reason we’re feeling “a little off”.
Buckle up guys because the first full moon of 2022 is here and it’s bringing with it a truck load of drama.
The major astrological event, known as the Wolf Moon, will occur on January 17 at 6.48pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).
While the “powerful” event takes place in the Northern Hemisphere, zodiacs in Southern Hemisphere countries will still feel the impact.
The energy will peak here on January 18 at 10.48am at Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT) with Melbourne astrologer Janelle Palibrk warning “everyone will be affected”.
“The full moon affects us in so many different ways, sometimes it can make us feel empowered while sometimes it can bring up a lot of shadows and dark times. It truly depends on the time of year,” she told news.com.au.
Janelle, who runs crystal company Myles Gray, said the fact the full moon occurs while we are experiencing a Mercury retrograde – known to wreak havoc on our emotions – which could cause people to “be a little off”.
As if that wasn’t enough, Venus and Uranus are also in retrograde, which can result in miscommunications, setbacks and other difficulties.
“With three planets in retrograde at the same time, it is going to get a little worse before it gets better,” she said.
“This full moon will also bring up a lot of emotions and force us to work on them.
“It is arriving in Cancer, the sign of the crab, which can pull us to act on emotions from the heart.”
While Janelle advises people to “let the energy guide you in decision making” – the 30-year-old said it could cause trouble for relationships.
“If you are experiencing any rough patches or arguing a lot, I recommend taking the time to think about what it is happening and why,” she said.
But while the full moon will “push us to talk about how we are feeling”, having Mercury in retrograde will “play havoc on our communication skills”.
“So it’s important to be clear if you decide to bring up your feelings,” Janelle advised.
Cancer signs are the star sign likely to feel the energy the most, she warned – while Scorpios are likely to “push for something” they want.
However, Janelle said all star signs were set to be affected, saying “now is the time” to tell that person in your life how you feel.
“It’s important that you nurture your relationships and let go off any that aren’t serving you,” she explained.
“We’ve felt a shift in energy this year and it’s important to make time for the ones that are important to you and remove any ‘noise’ from a relationship perspective.”
While ending a relationship – whether it be romantic or plutonic – might seem scary, Janelle said it would increase “happiness and clarity”.
“Mercury in retrograde is the perfect time to be selfish,” she added.
