A 63-year-old woman from California may have unlocked the key to remaining youthful in not just the body, but the mind and spirit as well.

Gym Tan’s positive outlook on life and her approach to her age has resonated with her 240k+ followers, as many are left in awe of her youthful appearance.

In a recent video, Tan opened up about her previously negative feelings about getting older.

“I think that when I was in my 40s and 50s there is this feeling of what’s going to happen when you get older?” she said in a video to her TikTok account.

“I mean as a woman it’s very normal and unfortunately, we’re all kind of trained to think this way. Like you know there’s almost like an expiration date or a date when you become almost invisible.

“And I would say probably in my fifties I was beginning to feel that.”

How Tan overcame this fear was focusing on a positive outlook on life and not thinking about age.

“Age is just a number, I’ve said it before. But more than that, just focus on what make you happy. Focus on what makes you feel good,” she said.

“So I always think if something looks good, smells good and tastes good, is good for you.

“So [I] just wanna come in and say to all of you that life is short, enjoy it [and] be happy. Surround yourself with people who love you and that you can learn from.”

Tan’s words have resonated with others as many admitting to the same fears and admiring her outlook on life.

“You are such an icon,” one user wrote.

“My [birthday] is coming up at the end of the month. I dread getting older. Every [birthday] I have an existential crisis. This year I’ll play this on repeat,” another user wrote.

At the time of writing, Tan has amassed a large following of 247.5k followers on TikTok and has continued to inspire others with not just her age journey, but her loving and wholesome relationship with her daughter, Mya.

In one video, Tan and her daughter are seen in various places around New York City, dressed differently and giving each other a high five.

“Trips with your kids are fun when they’re little but get even better as they grow up. Now when my 24 year old daughter and I travel together, we dress up, go out to fancy dinners, run and exercise by the pool [and] enjoy the same things in life together,” the caption read.
