MAFS star Davina Rankin reveals 13kg weight loss after drastic surgery

Reality star Davina Rankin revealed how she went from feeling “depressed” and “insecure” to her healthiest in years after taking a drastic step.

Former Married At First Sight star Davina Rankin has detailed her drastic health overhaul since removing her “toxic” breast implants in November.

Davina believes she may have been suffering from Breast Implant Illness (BII) which encompasses a wide range of symptoms including chronic fatigue, rashes and joint pain that women have reported experiencing after getting breast implants.

While BII is not formally recognised by the medical community, an increasing number of women are opting to have their implants removed after experiencing adverse health following a breast augmentation, with plastic surgeons around the world now specialising in their removal.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Davina shared selfies of herself 13 months apart, with the most recent photos after getting her breast implants removed, revealing she has now lost 13kg.

In the older photos Davina wrote that she was “sad, depressed, insecure” and believes her implants were “silently making me sick and tired”.

“I felt like everything was ‘too hard’ and had no idea how to even start looking after myself again,” she said, adding that being a new mum and covid lockdowns had led to “one super sh**ty cocktail”.

But since getting her breast implants removed Davina wrote that she was feeling “more alive than I have in the last 12 years”.

“I removed my toxic implants which means no more inflammation, bloating and gut issues,” she continued.

“Depression/anxiety and fatigue is basically non-existent, energy levels are up also.”

Davina said she now moves and meditates every day, as well as being “so much kinder to myself than I ever have been before”.

She encouraged her followers to “look after your mind body and soul” as it’s “never too late to start, even if you are at rock bottom”.

Last month Davina told The Daily Telegraph she wasn’t interested in getting any more cosmetic injections or surgery since welcoming daughter Mila Mae, 2.

She said removing her implants had been “like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders … or my chest”.

“I just feel incredible. I can actually now breathe deeply, I hadn’t been able to take a deep breath in years,” Davina said.

“There’s no pain, I feel like I’ve got a lot more energy, less brain fog, I feel awesome.”

Davina appeared on this year’s season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! her first reality TV appearance since her infamous Married At First Sight stint.

Davina appeared on the 2018 season where she made headlines for her “affair” with Dean Wells and was heavily trolled by viewers as a result.
