HEALER Anne Aleckson has devised a simple technique to help conquer fear and stop the anxiety cycle.
"The ABC Brain Re-Train technique is based on neuroscience, mindfulness and metaphysics," Aleckson says.
"The more you do it, the less you need to as your brain is retrained into a new way of responding to the stressful situation."
The ABC stands for Aware, Breathe and Chant:
AWARE: Be aware of the feeling that arises when you're about to go into fear or upset.
BREATHE: Breathe in to the count of four and then out to the count of eight, as if you're blowing out a candle.
CHANT: Repeat a mantra or affirmation (try something like "In this moment, right here and now, nothing is going wrong") for a few moments until you're feeling calm.
It can't hurt to try!
