Hollywood fitness guru Rainbeau Mars labelled bridezilla for asking guests to do three-week cleanse

HOLLYWOOD fitness guru Rainbeau Mars says she simply invited her wedding guests to take part in a three-week vegan cleanse before her big day. Instead she copped backlash of bridezilla proportions.

A HOLLYWOOD fitness guru has been labelled a "bridezilla" for asking her guests to undergo a three-week vegan cleanse before her wedding but insists her intentions have been "misconstrued".

Rainbeau Mars, a Hollywood health expert famous for her yoga DVDs, caused a backlash after she invited guests to her July 2 nuptials along to a pre-wedding cleanse on Kauai, Hawaii.

Posted on her Facebook page, the cleanse invites people "to look and feel their best" for her wedding to Hollywood business manager Michael Karlin.

"In celebration of Rainbeau and Michael's upcoming Hawaiian wedding, join our global community to become the most beautiful, healthy and fit versions of ourselves!"it reads.

Called the Fresh Start cleanse, the special diet is designed by Ms Mars and claims to strengthen the immune system, prevent disease, release stress and even "beautify your hair".

But her attempt to offer her guests a healthy start to her three-day island wedding celebrations turned sour with some Twitter users labelling the move as ridiculous and demanding.

Responding on Twitter, Ms Mars said she never demanded her guests do anything and that it was just a simple invite to take part in a cleanse.

But the cleanse invite also sparked a raft on comments on Ms Mars' Facebook page with some blasting her for her invite, and others supporting her.

One Facebook user posted "Listen, Miss Thing! I don't know WHO you are to DEMAND that people do any god damn thing. Oh, I am demanding that you get a cleanse or you can't come to my wedding. You are a spoiled little girl who should be happy with the blessings that you have got, and provide knowledge to friends or customers solely. For the groom, this is your opportunity to f***** RUN, not WALK, and leave this psycho."

To which Ms Mars replied: "I did not demand anything. Thank you very much. It was an invitation if any f our guests wanted to take part. The reporter got it wrong unfortunately. God bless you and be well."

Other comments on her page supported the mother-of-one saying: "Nasty comment - no need for it. I wish I had the self discipline to do the cleanse - I am a veggie but don't think I could do it. But congrats on your forthcoming marriage anyway x"
