Are big boobs dangerous?

Model and wellness influencer Rachael Finch is getting her breast implants removed after one of them ruptured, describing the situation as the “most nervous I’ve been in my whole life”.

The 32-year-old only discovered one of her breast implants had ruptured last week after suffering through years of pain and other symptoms, as well as seeing multiple specialists to try and find out what is wrong.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Rachael, who is a mother-of-two, revealed she would be taking the drastic step of getting her implants removed today.

“Two years ago I woke up and noticed one was a little different to the other,” she wrote.

“I immediately went in for an MRI which the doctor told me I had a capsular contracture in my left breast – meaning the skin the body creates around the implant to protect itself has tightened.

“I was told it was fine, common and nothing needed to be done urgently.”

Rachael then started getting pain in her left breast that gradually got worse, as well as “other symptoms”.

She decided to go see other specialists to get more medical opinions until she finally got an answer.

“I’ve been in and out of clinics for months, until last week I was told my left implant was in fact ruptured – meaning there’s a hole with its contents leaking out,” Rachael said.

“These results were actually on the original MRI I had 2 years ago but were read wrong to me.”

Rachael said she was “excited” but also “shaking with fear” at the thought of getting them removed.

She also encouraged her followers to “listen to your instinct and don’t stop searching” if something in their body feels off.

“Because the implant has been ruptured for so long we won’t know until after the operation just how much damage has been done,” she said.

“I will wake up a few hours from now in a world of pain, with small/no boobies, unable to hold my children, but a weight off my chest like no other.”

“At 17yrs I made the decision to have them put in and they have been apart of me for pretty much all my adult life. I am thankful that I was lucky enough to still breastfeed both my babies.”
