How to register to be an organ donor in Australia

CHANGING someone’s life could be as simple as making time for a basic activity that takes just one minute to do.

REGISTERING as an organ donor could not be more simple.

It takes just a minute to fill in your details and get yourself on the Australian Organ Donor Register. Here’s what to do.

1. Get out your Medicare card

The main piece of information you need is your Medicare number.

3. Complete your registration

Fill in a few details. Don’t worry it’s easy stuff such as your name and date of birth.

4. Contact your family

If you want to ensure your wishes are respected when you die, make sure your family knows that you’ve registered.

5. Spread the word

Let others know that you are an organ donor. You can share this story to let them know how easy it is to sign up.
