SKY News political guru Graham Richardson is facing one of his toughest battles yet in his 16-year fight with cancer.

The former politician is due to have a “pelvic exenteration” this week, he told The Daily Telegraph.

“They say it’s all got to come out — bowel, bladder, prostrate, rectum — the lot,’’ the 65-year-old said.

“You have to say, yes, I am frightened — I’ve been worrying about this for a long time. You’re talking 15 hours under the knife and, let’s be honest, I’m no spring chicken.’’

Mr Richardson was diagnosed with rare bone cancer chondrosarcoma in 1999 and has had five major tumours removed in three operations, the latest a 10-hour affair in 2012.

Seven months of chemotherapy have failed to shrink another tumour on his pelvic wall and the doctors are now worried that as it gets bigger, it could invade his organs.
