Coronavirus Australia live updates: Government releases virus modelling
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says there is "no map" for where Australia finds itself, and the virus restrictions will not lift for some time.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison and chief medical officer Brendan Murphy have revealed previously secret modelling the Australian government has used to inform its response to the coronavirus.
The pair spoke after today's National Cabinet meeting, and said Australia had so far managed to avoid the "horror scenario" playing out in some other countries around the world.
But there were also words of caution from the Prime Minister. He said the country was in "uncharted territory", and there was no way to predict when coronavirus restrictions might start to lift.
"Australia is in a position many countries would wish to be in. What we've got now is important time. That is giving our researchers, our scientists, our doctors, more time to be able to chart a way out of this," Mr Morrison said.
