Abbie Chatfield has revealed her glorious beachside snap isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

The Australian star posted a photo from Mexico where she is currently on holiday with her mystery new boyfriend.

In the snap, the TV star can be seen drinking a margarita and wearing a mustard-coloured G-string bikini.

While the 28-year-old revealed she was enjoying the sunshine with her new man, who she has not publicly named, she also detailed she was battling a common health problem that can be painful and uncomfortable for many.

“Hey everyone just fyi my UTI is now gone so I can finally drink margaritas in Tulum as god intended,” she informed her followers.

“And yes I now have thrush from the antibiotics and wearing togs all day.”

Chatfield’s experience isn’t an uncommon one.

Broad-spectrum antibiotics can act as a “bomb” to a body’s bacteria, according to Healthline. Antibiotics can wipe out the body’s supply of a bacteria called lactobacillus, which prevents yeast build up.

Yeast infections also thrive in moist environments, such as swimsuits and activewear after a workout.

Roya Rezaee, an obstetrician and gynaecologist, told University Hospitals: “Don’t sit around in a wet bathing suit. Rinse off with water and change immediately.”

Lucky Sekhon, an OB/GYN and fertility specialist, told Well+Good something similar.

Yeast tends to proliferate in warm, dark, moist places,” Dr Sekhon said.

“Since a wet bathing suit sticks to your body and doesn’t allow for any breathability between the clothing and the vaginal opening, it promotes a moist, warm environment which is basically a set up for a yeast infection.”

The FBoy Island host is no stranger to urinary tract infections after she ended up in hospital in 2023 for three days after she ignored symptoms and it developed into a kidney infection.

“If you have UTI symptoms and back pain/ nausea, don’t f**k around with that. Go to hospital,” she warned her followers.

“I knew this logically bc I’m a UTI QUEEN but was taking a chance I shouldn’t have and thought I could work.”
