Mum-of-six reveals the 4 'weird' rules for her kids

Sharon explained that her family had the rules when she was growing up and she “didn’t understand it until I had kids”.

She uploaded her video with the caption “Being a parent is weird. Never thought I’d be a ‘no singing’ rule.”

The footage has had more than half a million people intrigued with some all for it, while others were not a fan of the rather specific rules.

"So your kids don’t have fun?" one person queried.

While another was full of praise for the mum with a big brood.

“You’re doing amazing, I think everyone will have different weird rules for their families!” one gushed.

However, mostly people had endless questions – which Sharon happily answered.

“I will always find it really weird to force kids to learn something even if they have no interest in it,” one person stated.

But Sharon insisted that she had a very good reason for this rule.

“It’s like maths or reading. It’s a life skill that will serve them in one way or another down the line”.

Another questioned the ‘no homework’ policy until high schools, saying “it’s going to be a struggle if they don't know what homework is... homework prepares you for college”.

Sharon backed her reasoning by saying: “studies show that homework in grade school helps kids in no way”.

Mum defends her “no playing with friends on Sunday” rule

One expressed outrage about the very specific “no playing with friends on Sunday” rule, by exclaiming: “I find #1 shocking”.

“It’s family day! We have a giant brunch and go do something epic as a family," Sharon explained.

There was one who wanted to know the theory behind the singing ban.

“I need the backstory for the singing at the dinner table rule because we had the same rule after my sister was old enough.”

Sharon simply replied with: “It’s just really annoying when we’re trying to chat and everyone is singing”.
