A FOOD blogger has posted a scathing review online about a chain restaurant in Brisbane after claiming she was served a meal containing a shard of glass.

Anita On Chi, who uses the Instagram handle @hellobrisbanenoms, posted a photograph of a bowl of noodles and a piece of “hard plastic or glass” that she claims to have found in the food, on her account. The meal was purchased at PappaRich Garden City, a Malaysian food restaurant chain in Brisbane, on Wednesday.

“I wanted to be honest with you guys and share a massive disappointment of an establishment that I actually really liked — until tonight,” Ms On Chi posted to her 32,000 Instagram followers later that night.

“This was a delivery I just received tonight from @papparichaus Garden City — noodles with a GARNISH OF HARD PLASTIC/GLASS.”

Ms On Chi said she had already paid for the meal when she made the alleged discovery and did not complain to the restaurant until after she left then called them.

“I’m usually a lover of all things food,” she wrote.

“I would usually go to the restaurant first and tell them about how I feel. Mistakes happen. Sure. I get that. But ... Tonight. I did this and not only was I provided with 0 resolution.”

The food blogger claimed an employee told her over the phone that another incident involving glass in a customer’s food had previously been raised with management but that the issue was never resolved.

“I am disgusted. So. Wtf is going on @papparichaus?”

News.com.au has contacted Ms On Chi for further comment.

PappaRich spokeswoman Jeannette Kuek told news.com.au the incident had been investigated but the source of the object wasn’t found.

“The kitchen staff have looked into it and there were no loose plastics or glass anywhere,” she said.

“We think it was definitely an accident ... we don’t want to serve plastics.

“In my two years [with PappaRich] I have only known this to happen once or twice.”

Ms Kuek said past complaints had been investigated but that a source was also not found in those cases.

“It’s hard to say where they came from,” Ms Kuek said.

“Anita had a very bad experience and we feel very sorry.

“We want her to come back and make sure she has a better time.”

PappaRich, which claims on its website to be “bringing authentic Malaysian delights to Australia”, also has franchises in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, Canberra, Darwin and on the Gold Coast.
