It’s a basic pantry item many of us buy in individual sachets at Woolies, but shoppers have found a giant size at that saves you money.

Who doesn’t like to save money?

One way to save cash on your groceries is by buying in bulk, with one Australian item recently getting lots of bargain hunters excited.

Countless posts on Facebook have been singing the praises of a 2kg tub of Maggi Rich Gravy Mix. The bulk item is sold for between $23-$30 at various IGA and Costco stores as well as many independent grocers.

The huge container makes 20 litres of the much-loved brown sauce while making the equivalent volume using $1 sachets sold at Woolworths (which makes 250g of gravy) would cost $80 – saving as much as $57.

“What an unbelievable saving, the best gravy ever,” one woman wrote on the social media platform recently.

“This bucket is amazing, hate that you can’t buy Maggi in supermarket unless in a stupid pouch,” another said.

“Such a steal,” someone else wrote.

The price isn’t the only detail shoppers are reporting to love about the item, with a recent post in Mums Who Cook, Clean and Organise describing it as the “best ever pub gravy”.

“All right you guys, this lived up to the hype, hands down,” the delighted fan wrote.

She went on to jokingly scold those who knew about the bucket of gravy powder, writing: “You guys who knew were holding out on us who didn’t … Shame on you.”

The post shared yesterday has been met with a huge response, many agreeing it was a truly tasty sauce.

“Best f***ing gravy ever,” one said.

“Can’t eat any other gravy after having this one,” another said.

“I love it so, so much,” someone else declared.

Many said they had been trying to locate the much-hyped tub “for ages” but had struggled as it’s only sold in certain places.

Nestle, which owns the Maggi brand, recommends serving the sauce with roast dishes, pies, grilled meats and hot chips.

Until recently, many Australians were pronouncing Maggi wrong, a fact pointed out on MasterChef recently.

The voiceover during the episode pronounced the well-known brand as “Madge-y”, leaving viewers feeling they had been “lied” to their entire lives.
