An urgent recall has been issued for three popular spices sold at supermarkets across Australia.

Food Standards Australia issued the recall for three varieties of Herbie’s Spices on Tuesday.

The recalled spices have been identified as Raita Spice Blend, Black Salt and Chaat Masala, and all have a best before date between and inclusive of July 18, 2024 and July 18, 2025.

Food Standards Australia has alerted consumers of the potential presence of allergens, peanuts and tree nuts in the spices and warn those with allergies could suffer adverse reactions.

Herbie’s Spices, sold nationally, are available in independent stores such as IGAs, health food stores and online retailers.

“Consumers who have a peanut and/or tree nut allergy or intolerance should not consume these products,” Food Standards Australia said.

Customers looking to return the spices can do so at the place of purchase for a full refund.
