Shock as a mother claims to find a screw in a bread roll
A mother says she is “bloody disgusted” after cutting her mouth and ruining her $4000 smile after a bun she bit in to had a screw in it, bought from a supermarket.
A Queensland mother says she could have been moments away from feeding her little baby part of a bread roll that had a screw in it.
Skye-april Cullen has taken to social media slamming Coles after she claims she found the metal object in a six pack of buns.
The young mum said she bought the pack from the Smithfield store in Cairns on Tuesday night.
“I am bloody disgusted and have cut my mouth open,” she said on Coles’ Facebook page.
“I brought a six-pack of your buns for my dinner last night, took about six bites, then felt my tooth crack and taste blood.
“I rushed to pull the contents out of my mouth.
“Firstly I want to point out I have a baby who is just starting to eat who could have just as easily ate this last night.”
Ms Cullen shared several pictures of the find.
“I’m mortified, I bet there’s still buns on the shelf,” she said.
“I don’t know what is going to fix this … you’re lucky my daughter didn’t choke to death.”
Ms Cullen encouraged people to share the warning, saying she had cracked her $4000 smile.
A Coles spokeswoman said they had been made aware of the incident.
“Coles takes the quality of all our products seriously and has contacted the customer to follow up their complaint,” she said.
“As always we encourage customers to return any item they’re not 100 per cent happy with to their nearest store for a full refund or replacement.”
People took the Facebook post saying the incident was “shocking”.
“This is disturbing,” wrote one woman.
