Love Raw peanut butter cups recalled over fears of undeclared gluten allergen
Authorities have issued an urgent warning for people to return a popular snack sold at independent food retailers in four states.
Health authorities have urged shoppers in four states to return a popular peanut butter snack after a major health hazard in the product was identified.
Apromo Trading Pty Ltd announced that its Love Raw peanut butter cups m:lk choc and white choc were being recalled from independent food retailers.
The snacks are sold across stores in NSW, ACT, Victoria and Western Australia and have been pulled from shelves.
In a statement, Food Standards Australia New Zealand said the recall was due to the presence of an undeclared gluten allergen.
“Any consumers who have a gluten allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” Food Standards said in a statement.
The notice includes Love Raw peanut butter cups in the m:lk chocolate flavour with best-before dates of February 9 and February 7, 2024.
The white choc-flavoured products have best-before dates of July 12 and August 8, 2023, and February 15, 2024.
Customers who have a gluten allergy or intolerance should not consume these products and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
