Lovers of Greek dip are being warned a tzatziki that went on sale in supermarkets across Australia could pose a health risk, with authorities urging consumers to return the product for a full refund.

Quality Food World announced on Friday it would pull its Fifya Greek Tzatziki product over incorrect labelling that puts people with a milk intolerance at risk.

The dip, sold at Coles Local shops and independent retailers including IGA supermarkets, is labelled dairy free on the lid, but milk is included in the ingredients list and product, Food Standards Australia and New Zealand warns.

“Any consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” the food safety agency said.

“Consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.”

The faulty dip has a “best before” markings of April 30, 2024 and May 30, 2024.

It was sold at retailers in NSW, Queensland, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria.

The NSW government’s Food Authority has also flagged the recall, encouraging consumers with a milk allergy to return the non-compliant product.
