Two different types of waffle makers have been recalled in Australia over safety concerns.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission issued the recall after dozens of people reported being burned by hot waffle mixture while using the machines in the US.

The two products of concern are the PowerXL Model ESWM02 (5 inch) and Model ESWM03 (7 inch) Stuffed Wafflizer waffle makers.

Both machines were sold online and in stores between March and September 2022.

The products were sold via Global Shop Direct, Australia Post retail outlets, TV Direct and The Trading Post Newsagency.

“Hot pieces of waffle or stuffing may be expelled from the maker during use or upon opening the lid,” the ACCC warned.

Anyone who purchased either product is urged to stop using them immediately and contact customerservice@globalshopdirect.com.au or 1300 137 598 to receive a latch adaptor repair kit.
