Woolworths has stunned shoppers with the announcement of a “decadent” new flavour of one of their most beloved products.

The grocery giant shared this afternoon that a Rocky Road version of their famous Mud Cake would hit shelves next Wednesday, June 1.

Featuring a raspberry-flavoured chocolate cake, the limited edition dessert – which will put shoppers back just $5.50 – is topped with chocolate ganache, marshmallows and shredded coconut.

Woolworths Category Manager for Bakery, Chris Chase, told news.com.au in a statement that they “wanted to create something exciting that combines our popular Mud Cake with a much loved Aussie treat”.

“We know our customers look forward to the limited edition Mud Cake flavours we sell every year,” he added.

“The result is a decadent Mud Cake that has sentimental meaning to Australian households with the scent of raspberry and coconut topped with marshmallows, combined with the rich, chocolate flavour, reminding customers of a decadent Rocky Road dessert.”

A video of the cake shared to Woolworths’ TikTok account quickly drummed up dozens of comments and likes, with one writing: “This is something I didn’t know I needed.”

“Watched this and headed straight to the shops,” commented another.
