Sickening Easter creations to make you feel better about going back to work
IF you’re not already sick of the long weekend pig-out, these deep-fried, cheese-topped Creme Egg abominations will have you craving a salad.
IF you aren’t sick of Easter yet, these monstrous creations should sate your appetite for cheap chocolate.
Cadbury Creme Eggs are already among the most indulgent of the season’s snacks, but some people always take things too far.
Crimes against taste and decency cracked a new ceiling on social media this weekend, with the chocolate eggs baked with anything from cinnamon rolls to sausage meat.
Today show host Lisa Wilkinson posted a photo of Creme Egg Scotch eggs, made by wrapping chocolate cake mix around the eggs, dipping in egg whites, cocoa powder and Cocoa Krispies, and then deep frying.
Miller’s Butchers in Belfast took the brief more literally, wrapping the chocolate eggs in sausage meat and breadcrumbs before deep-frying.
Smoke’s Poutinerie in Canada raised the bar with the deep-fried Creme Egg bacon poutine — a serving of chips, gravy sauce, bacon and cheese curds, with deep fried chocolate eggs on top.
While Starbucks took the award for the most tooth-achingly sugary drink with a Creme Egg frappucino, adding vanilla beans, vanilla syrup, caramel syrup and caramel drizzle for good measure.

Others proudly posted pictures of disgusting-looking cakes covered in eggs, Maltesers, chocolate sprinkles and white chocolate, while others simply smashed the eggs together gigantic piles.
One Twitter user rolled Creme Eggs into cinnamon rolls, others stuffed them into doughnuts or pies and one turned the eggs into a dip.
The trappings of Easter already feel a little out of synch with a secular, autumnal Australia. But these chocolate abominations may have brought us to a new low in the holiday’s history.
