Mum roasted for meal prepping lunches for 30-year-old son

A woman has shared how she always keeps her freezer full of homemade meals for her 30-year-old son – but not everyone was impressed.

Never cook dinner on a weeknight again

A mum who boasted about prepares a freezer full of homemade meals for her 30-year-old son has ended up being criticised for the move.

Posting on Facebook, the woman shared a photo of her freezer showing it full of frozen meals that included pasta, curries and beef casserole.

The mum wrote that her son could “always let himself in for a feed” despite not living at home.

“He knows there’s always a selection in the freezer. If I can, you can,” she wrote.

However she reportedly was forced to turn comments off on her post after copping an “overwhelming” amount of negative comments.

She later updated her post to explain she’d been bombarded and had no choice but to take action, according to Daily Mail Australia.

“This post was meant to inspire, not judge,” she said.

“I am turning of comments as this is becoming very overwhelming, love to you all, life can be wonderful no matter what.”

However others praised her impressive meal prep, saying she was a “wonderful mumma”.

“I hope I do the same for my son because I love cooking,” one person commented.

“My mum is exactly like you; she feeds me when I am there and I am over 30,” another wrote.

It’s not the first time meal prep has proved divisive – back in January a Perth woman was criticised for making her tradie boyfriend’s lunches.

Kiara posted two videos on TikTok of the elaborate lunches she put together for her boyfriend, with the clips getting more than 420,000 views.

One of the lunches Kiara packed her boyfriend included dried apricots and bananas, a ham, salami cheese and salad wrap, yoghurt, carrot sticks with capsicum dip, an oat slice bar, rice crackers and gherkins.

The videos got hundreds of comments questioning whether Kiara was making lunch for a “boyfriend or child” and if she would also “change his diaper for him too”.

“It looks like an eight-year-old child’s lunch,” one person wrote.
Kiara responded to the criticism from “all the Karens and the negative Nancys” in a follow-up TikTok video.

“I make my partner’s lunch because I make my own at the same time, so why not?” she said.
