Mum makes 10 dinners for family- of-four for $123
An Australian mother-of four has shared her mammoth grocery shop revealing how she gets 10 meals out of it, lasting almost two months.
Parents will understand the frustration when it comes to dinner time – from the constant question of “what do I cook?” to the time it takes preparing the food.
But a savvy mum has revealed her efficient and cost-saving way of making 10 dinners for just $123 – and it all comes down to planning.
Taking to Facebook, the Aussie woman shared a snap of her grocery list explaining that she cooks it all in one go to save her time when it comes to feeding her family of four.

After making the massive batch, she then freezes it and pulls it out after school and work to help make life easy.
She said the prepacked food is enough for 10 dinners, lasting roughly six-weeks – but doesn’t include the rice, pasta or salad which is served alongside the main meal.
The grocery list is made up of a variety of fruits and vegetables from capsicum, to carrots and broccoli and protein such as mince meat, sausages and chicken breast.
The mum also included the price tag next to each item, which totalled $123.53.
“You should be very proud of this effort,” a fellow mum commented on the post, while others praised her for her organisational skills.

One woman asked if her family gets “sick of eating the same thing?” to which the mum responded that they “normally use three or four frozen meals a fortnight”.
An obvious bonus of cooking in bulk is that there is “very little washing up”, the mum added.
She cuts all the vegetables on the same chopping board for all of the meals and then does the same for the meat.
“I rinse it off and then cut the meat, then rinse and cut the other meat,” she explained.
She uses just three pots to make the big batch, rinsing them between each dish, before popping it into the dishwasher after she’s finished her cook-up.
