Melbourne now has Australia’s largest lolly shop in the country

An Australian confectionary company has launched the biggest lolly shop in Australia, with hundreds of shoppers flooding to the store.

Australia’s largest lolly shop, boasting candy from all over the world, has opened in Melbourne.

Tom’s Confectionery Warehouse opened at Highpoint Shopping Centre, in Melbourne, on November 11.

More than 30,000 lollies are available from many different countries, including the United States, the UK, New Zealand, South Africa, Turkey and the Netherlands.

Food blogger @nectoriouspapi was stunned about the amount of different KitKats that were on offer, revealing there was even one with churros in it.

“It’s a really fun place, definitely go and enjoy it,” he told his followers.

Inside the magical candyland there are also giant characters from The Simpsons and a tyrannosaurus rex, which moves and roars.

Vlogger, @pink_panters_gaming, said he had to wait for 25 minutes to get inside the store the day after opened.

“Once you got in, you could just see confectionary as far as the eye could see. Whatever you can imagine, there is something to find from the pick n mix section,” he said.

The store is hoping to smash the record for the biggest pick and mix section, which boasts more than 1000 sweets, in a world record attempt on November 25.

Aside from the huge selection of lollies, on the store’s biggest attraction’s is the human claw machine, enjoyed by children and adults alike.

The claw stands at 3.5 metres high, and is like a flying fox through a pool of treats. People are allowed to keep whatever they get their hands on.

Tom’s Confectionery Warehouse was first opened in Brisbane by Tom Jeanes 40 years ago. When he passed away in 2021, it was purchased by Adiel Ben-Karmona.

“Our new Highpoint store – is one of the biggest lolly shops in the world – we have thousands of different lollies, chocolates, and other sweet treats from all across the world, we continue to grow & innovate” he added.

“We are more than just a lolly store, we want Tom’s Confectionery Warehouse to be a place that inspires anyone who walks through our doors, young or old, to bring some fun to their day-to-day lives, a place where they can expect the unexpected.

“Tom’s motto will always be come for the experience we offer & the candy is a bonus”.
