McDonald’s launches new Gourmet Creations burger range

OVER the Big Mac? McDonald’s has launched a new range of gourmet burgers with fancy schmancy ingredients.

FROM Monday, McDonald’s restaurants around the country will roll out a new burger range called Gourmet Creations.

The six gourmet burgers, and one salad, cost between $8 and $9 and will be available in all Maccas restaurants around the country, as well as Drive Thru.

The burgers contain fancy ingredients — well, for Maccas — like aioli, brioche buns and caramelised onions.

The flavour combinations are the result of market research and an assessment of the most popular ingredients chosen by Create Your Own Taste customers. Create Your Own Taste is not available via Drive Thru and customers have been asking for a greater burger range outside the store.

“We looked at the most popular combinations for Create Your Own Taste and we worked with our chefs to make sure we had a great range of burgers and we’re not all doing the same thing,” McDonald’s Australia chief marketing officer Jenni Dill told news.com.au.

“I think consumer tastes continue to evolve, with new trends are coming in from overseas and from high end restaurants. Food and flavour trends are evolving and we need to be moving with those trends,” Ms Dill said.
