The fast-food giant has announced the return of a “fan favourite” – more than two years after the limited edition menu item was last on sale.

Macca’s has stunned fans with a “surprise return” of one of its most popular limited edition menu items.

The fast food giant has announced the fan favourite KitKat McFlurry and KitKat Frappe will be available once again in Australia.

But like the old saying goes, all good things come to an end, with the collaboration only running for a limited time.

The McFlurry is exclusively available on Menulog for a week starting August 24 - then both the McFlurry and Frappe are available in stores nationwide, from the 31st of August for a limited time only.

“After a successful launch in 2020, we are so excited to bring back the delicious KitKat McFlurry and KitKat Frappe,” Liz Whitbread, Senior Brand Manager for McDonald’s Australia, said.

“Our new range of KitKat desserts will hit the spot every time.”

If you missed out on trying the dessert last time it was on sale, the $4 KitKat McFlurry features the creamy soft-serve we know and love, topped with KitKat wafer pieces and hot fudge sauce.

While the Frappé, which retails on average for $5.12 around Australia, is made up of Macca’s creamy chocolate frappé blended with crushed KitKat pieces, topped with whipped cream and KitKat chunks.

Prices vary store to store.

Social media lit up with joy back in 2020 when the KitKat items first went on sale, with many describing them as “delicious”.

The collaboration has been popular around the world as well as in Australia.

McDonald’s appears to be bringing back popular menu items at the moment.

The KitKat announcement comes just three weeks after the return of the Quarter Pounder with Bacon.

Alongside the reintroduction of the burger, Macca’s also launched the Quarter Pounder Delux.

“We are excited to give Quarter Pounder fans even more variety with the addition of the new Quarter Pounder Deluxe and Quarter Pounder with Bacon,” Tim Kenward, marketing director of McDonald’s Australia, said.

“From crispy bacon to fresh lettuce and tomato, there’s something for everyone in this range.”

The new menu items are only available for a limited time.
