A fan favourite is about to hit our supermarket shelves again with Arnott’s to bring back a classic Aussie flavour for the rest of the footy season.

Shapes Four’N Twenty Classic Meat Pie will be hitting supermarket shelves. along with Shapes Fully Loaded Bueno Beef Taco, which will have notes of Mexican seasoned beef and tomatoes.

Arnott’s first released Meat Pie and Sausage Sizzle flavours to their Shapes Aussie Legends range in 2019 off the back of Vegemite Shapes popularity before introducing another version of the savoury treat two years later.

Food blogger @nectoriouspapi said the two Shapes flavours were coming to stores, and people had a big reaction to it.

“Very keen for new Cadbury and Shapes,” one social media user boasted.

Another said: “Yum that sounds so good.”

A spokesperson from the brand revealed that the flavour was brought back to celebrate the football season.

“Shapes is known for bringing flavour to life and both of our latest flavour drops do just that. Shapes Four’N Twenty Classic Meat Pie is the perfect snack for footy season,” Shapes’ marketing manager at Arnott’s Krishma Sood said.

“It’s a tasty combination of two of Australia’s most iconic footy feeds, and perfectly lives up to Shapes’ legendary status as the Flavour of Footy,” Ms Sood said.

“As a shout out to all the Shapes fans who love a good Mexican feed, we’ve also introduced Shapes Fully Loaded Bueno Beef Taco. Aussies will be celebrating Taco Tuesday every day of the week with this out-of control snack packed with extra flavour and crunch.”

The two flavours are now available at Coles, Woolworths and independent retailers for $4.

It comes after Arnott’s was accused of changing the taste and formulation of its Salada crackers according to customer feedback on Product Review.

One seasoned Salada fan, Rita, said the biscuit had become thinner, and holier, and gave the product a one-star review.

“Biscuits are so very thin now. When buttering cream cheese etc they break! A lot more holes in them … 50/50 holes to biscuit ratio causing weight down dramatically per box,” she wrote in May.

“Paying for air! Other brands are cost wise cheaper and weigh more in product.”

However, Arnotts dismissed claims the crackers were smaller or had changed formulation.

“Arnott’s Salada original crackers, perfectly versatile for meal size, snack size and bite size with all your favourite toppings, has not changed in size, nor has its recipe,” a spokesperson said.

“The entire Arnott’s Salada range continues to offer Aussies a convenient on-the-go snack or lunch option when simply dipping or adding your preferred toppings.”
