Krispy Kreme launches two ‘delicious’ doughnuts with Cadbury Crunchie

A popular doughnut brand has partnered with an iconic chocolate bars and the result is something “delicious, decadent and truly delightful”.

If you’ve ever been torn between choosing a either a chocolate bar or a doughnut for your afternoon snack, Krispy Kreme has created the solution for you — especially if you’re a Crunchie fan.

The doughnut company has collaborated with the famous Cadbury bar to release not one, but two Krispy Kreme-doughnut hybrids.

The first on offer is a Crunchie ring: a doughnut dipped in honeycomb truffle glaze and covered in Crunchie pieces and chocolate ganache.

The second hybrid doughnut is a Crunchie Shell doughnut filled with honeycomb-flavoured custard and topped with ganache and Crunchie pieces.

While the doughnut is just being released today, it’s already looking set to be a be winner with one of the brains behind it, Modelez Internation licensing and co-branding manager Joanne King, describing it as “delicious, decadent and truly delightful”.

“No one can resist a Crunchie with it’s delicious honeycomb covered in smooth milk chocolate,” Krispy Kreme Australia marketing manager Olivia Sutherland said.

“The Crunchie texture matched to our soft fluffy freshly made doughnuts is a real winner. We’re so excited about this collaboration and hope Crunchie lovers enjoy it as much as we do.”

The only bad news? The doughnut is here for a limited time only (sob).

It’s available now at all Krispy Kreme stores, 7-Eleven, and via delivery on menulog, Deliveroo and UberEATS.

The Krispy Kreme Crunchie doughnuts isn’t the only hybrid dessert to hit stores this month, with Woolies last week releasing a Vanilla Cake with Lotus Biscoff.

The $8 vanilla layer cake is covered in buttercream infused with Lotus Biscoff, as well as a drizzling of the famous sweet spread and crumbled biscuit pieces.

To top it off the cake features a Lotus Biscoff biscuit and also has the added benefit of being vegan.

The cake got Biscoff fans salivating online, with some who have tried it saying they were “blown away” by how good it was.

“Bought this cake last night. OMG,” another commented.

“Blown away, so soft and yum and delicious. Well done Woolies, might be better than your choccy mud,” one person also wrote on Instagram.
