A major fast food chain has revealed a new beverage drop — but some fans have expressed disappointment that it’s not another item.

KFC announced it will be testing a brand new drinks range in four select stores from March 25. The Kwench range features lemonades such Spicy Mango Lemonade, Bobas such as Watermelon Boba Refresher and Krunch shakes such as the Caramel Krunch shake.

There is also the Iced Koffe Krunch range, which features Iced Mocha Coffee Krunch.

Social media users were quick to express their shock and demand that KFC bring back a nostalgic range instead.

“KFC will do anything except bring back the Golden Gaytime Krusher,” one person said.

Another added: “If they can introduce a ‘krunch’ shake, surely they can just bring back the krushers instead. Same, same except krushers already have guaranteed customers.”

“We didn’t ask for this. We asked for Krushers back,” one commented.

“Krushers were so good. Legit KFC would have so many more customers if they brought it back,” another said.

One declared: “Till they bring Krushers back, I’m not interested.”

Another said: “Please I just want a krusher so badly. We’re so close.”

A KFC spokesperson spoke to the concern that fans were having with the new range.

“Over the years, consumer’s tastes have evolved as well as the ingredients we’re able to innovate with. As part of the product test, Kwench by KFC experiments with new flavours and textures we think our fans will love,” the spokesperson told news.com.au.

“We’ll never say never to Krushers returning, but in the meantime head over to Wollongong and try the Kwench by KFC range for yourself.”

Fans who have tried the range — which is available at Warrawong, Dapto, Unanderra and Fairy Meadow — have given it a big thumbs up.

“I’ll be coming back here, this needs to be on the menu,” one customer said.

Another added: “It’s got a good caramel flavour to it. Not too sweet and that crunch after it with this stuff on top — it’s just perfect.”

“Yeah, that’s gold,” one added.

Another said it was nice, milky and you can “get enough of the mango taste with the coconut”.

Sally Spriggs, the group marketing at KFC Australia, said it was the brand’s “most exciting” beverage yet.

“We’re always looking to push the boundaries of flavour, and Kwench by KFC is our most exciting beverage innovation yet. This range has everything from refreshing lemonades to indulgent shakes that are prepared fresh in-restaurant,” she said.

The range will also appear in four other stores — Shellharbour, Shellharbour Food Court, Albion Park 2 and Wollongong Food Court — on May 6.
