‘Is it real?’: Fans lose it over next-level KFC menu item

The fast food giant has launched a super-sized version of one of its “cult” favourite menu items in an Australian first.

KFC launches super-sized version of ‘cult’ item

KFC has launched a super-sized version of one of its most popular items – and judging by the reaction on social media fried chicken fans are very, ahem, excited.

From today all customers nationally will be able to get their hands on the Tenders Dipping Feast – a “cult” product at overseas KFCs that’s made across Australia for the first time.

One Tenders Dipping Feast comes with 16 Original Recipe Tenders, one share pack of chips and five dipping sauces, including supercharged, barbecue, aioli, sweet and sour and gravy. That’s a lot of chicken.

Already a ‘cult’ item overseas, the Tenders Dipping Feast will be available nationally in Australia for the first time – but it’s for a limited time only.

The limited edition menu item has already attracted rave reviews on TikTok, with @geniyoo’s video of it getting over 1.2 million views.

Another video posted by @emclarke3 also got 1.3 million views, with Colonel Sanders fans questioning: “Is this real?”

“I need this immediately,” one person commented.

“This is exactly the portion I need,” another joked.

One KFC devotee said they had “got that the moment it came out”.

“Just had this now, so good,” one person commented.

The Tenders Dipping Feast isn’t the only KFC item to get a big social media reaction recently. Back in October the chain unveiled an at-home breakfast recipe to a mixed reaction from fans.

In the latest instalment of this year’s Kentucky Fried Cookin’ series, MasterChef alum Reynold Poernomo, who owns Sydney’s iconic KOI Dessert Bar, unveiled his Chicken ’n Croffles.

A combination of KFC’s Wicked Wings and croissant-waffle hybrid, not everyone was sold on the fried chicken breakfast dish.

The recipe includes a spicy kewpie mayo slaw packed with sriracha sauce and smoked paprika alongside pickled onions, KFC’s Wicked Wings and a drizzle of maple syrup. According to KFC, “it’s the breakfast dish you never knew you needed”, saying it’s “like nothing you’ve ever seen”.

“No,” one person demanded on Facebook in response to the video.

“No way,” another added, while a third said: “One simply does not eat chicken for breakfast.”
