‘Incredible’: Coles unveils its 2024 Christmas range

The supermarket giant has revealed a new range with one item already proving popular among the supermarket’s shoppers.

Coles has just unveiled its new Christmas range, with one freezer item already catching the attention of shoppers.

The Australian retail giant is releasing more than 400 own brand products – 89 of which are new – to help Aussies celebrate the upcoming silly season.

The Coles range includes everything from easy-to-cook hams, pre-prepared side dishes and locally grown vegetables as well as “too good to resist” dessert options.

Michael Weldon, the supermarket’s development chef, has been working on its Christmas releases for eight years.

He claims the hotly-anticipated collection has gotten “bigger and better” every year thanks to the effort they team puts in to make the festive season “fun and exciting” for Australians across the country.

“It takes time but I think the hard work translates with the stuff on shelves, resulting in this beautiful range,” the chef told news.com.au.

Talking of the lengthy process of getting Aussies the best items for Christmas, Mr Weldon said its “trial and error.

“We do products that we think are amazing, and unfortunately aren’t, and we do products that we’re unsure of and they’re incredible,” he explained.

“However, Christmas isn’t just Christmas Day now. It starts in November and continues on with spending time with family long past Australia Day.

“So we’re focusing now on the whole celebration season. It’s stuff that puts a smile on people’s faces.”

Mr Weldon said the Coles team religiously watches social media to see what does well from around the world and use that information to help create the festive range each year.

One product that already appears to be a stand out is Coles “Tree Pops”, an ice cream stick in the shape of the iconic tree that is covered in chocolate.

Popular food bloggers @Nectoriouspapi and Foodie Mumma Ren have already spotted the frozen treat in stores, describing the festive ice cream sticks as “cute”.

Other social media users have said: “Yummy we need this”, “Soooo many new things to try” and “Love the new things”.

But, it isn’t the only dessert item that has been getting shoppers excited for the festive season with the supermarket also releasing a “Coles Finest Salted Caramel and Chocolate Star Dessert”, as well as ice cream tubs in two seasonal flavours, “Spiced Rum and Fig” and “Burnt Butter and Pecan”.

Another standout item is the “Luxury Sicilian Lemon Sponge Pudding”, that is covered in a lemon sauce and a sprinkle of freeze-dried raspberries.

Coles CEO Leah Weckert, said the brand was focusing on easy to prepare range for every occasion.
