Ice cream lovers across Australia, this one’s for you. We’ve got all the locations giving away free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream today.

Free? What? Where?

Ben & Jerry’s is giving away free ice cream. More than 120,000 scoops to be exact.

They will be scooping from noon to 8pm across their Australian stores in celebration of their annual Free Cone Day (participating stores below).

This year marks their 41st nationwide event.

Ice cream aficionados won’t go unsatisfied with the American ice cream manufacturer offering all their crowd favourites including Phish Food, Non-Dairy and light ice cream options such as Mocha Fudge Brownie.

Yes please, thanks. Rule: one scoop per person. You can go back for seconds, but good luck waiting in line again.

Last year they dished out 108,620 scoops with the highest number being given out in the Sydney suburb of Chatswood at 7790, closely followed by Bondi at 6990 — but they’re hoping to smash that record this year.

“This is one of our favourite days of the year and it’s a special tradition to say thank you to our fans. We can’t wait to see all the smiles and happiness Free Cone Day brings this year, said Ben & Jerry’s CEO Matthew McCarthy.

Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day originated in America in 1979 when co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield opened the doors of their renovated gas station and threw a free ice cream party for the locals of Burlington, Vermont, to thank them for their support.

Since then, the “Ben & Jerriest” day of the year has become an annual event with more than one million scoops handed out around the world and more than 400,000 in Australia alone since 2015.

“We’re nothing without our fans,” Mr McCarthy added.

To get your free scoop just pop into your closest Scoop Store at the following locations between 12 — 8pm on 9 April.
