Golden Gaytime like you have never seen it before

If you’re a Golden Gaytime fan, then you’re going to froth over this new item which is due to hit Coles and Woolies shelves next week.

Brace yourselves — Streets has just announced what is possibly the sweetest news yet.

For the first time ever it will be transforming the iconic Golden Gaytime ice cream into a (wait for it) … cake.

While you may have already seen fans flood social media with their own version of the crumbed delight, this is the first time the brand has released official varieties.

That’s right, the mouth-watering toffee and vanilla flavour has been adapted into not only a cake but a brownie, brookie and even mousse.

What a vision.

To help bring the (dream) treats to life, Golden Gaytime collaborated with Green’s Baking — an Australian-owned company known for its cake mixes, pancakes and cookies.

And with their expertise in baking and Golden Gaytime’s signature flavour, they’ve created the ultimate desserts.

However, it’s also worth mentioning one (very) minuscule detail. You have to bake it yourself.

You’re looking at the all-new Golden Gaytime cake.

But with most Aussies currently in lockdown and always looking for something new to do (and bake), it actually comes at a perfect time.

Plus, all that is required is a bit of mixing.

“We know that Australians love to bake and treat themselves with iconic nostalgic flavours, so

we thought why not combine the two and create the ultimate Green’s Golden Gaytime cake

range,” Green’s head of marketing and Innovation, Peta Allsopp said.

There’s four different cake flavours to choose from.

This is the Mousse – topped with its biscuit crumb.

“Combining Green’s signature array of easy to make recipes, with an iconic Australian ice

cream in Street’s Golden Gaytime, this is an incredibly fun, exciting and delicious collaboration that is sure to appeal to all sweet tooths.”

Ms Allsopp said whether you’re a crumb cake, brownie, brookie or mousse fan – there’s plenty of spongy, fluffy, crunchy goodness for everyone.

And this is the Brookie.

Annie Lucchitti, the marketing manager for Unilever (which owns Streets) described it as the best of both worlds coming together.

“Golden Gaytime is a much loved Aussie product in consumers lives, from the flavour to the texture and memories associated,” she said.

“This partnership is the perfect way to ensure Aussies can bring that love into their baking moments.”

The four new Green’s Golden Gaytime cake varieties ($6 each) are available from September 13 in Coles and Woolworths from October 18.
