Four Aldi cheeses take home top spots in Dairy Industry Association of Australia Awards
Aldi shoppers love to tell you just how good the supermarket’s dairy products are. And it seems they have good reason to.
When it comes to Aldi dairy products, shoppers will be quick to tell you just how good they are. And now there’s proof.
The budget retailer is known for its variety of affordable local and international gourmet cheeses as well as tasty ice creams, so it’s no wonder the German chain cleaned up in the annual Dairy Industry Association of Australia Awards.
It took home a whopping 51 awards in a host of categories including butter, milks and creams, yoghurts and, of course, cheeses.

In fact, it had 22 of its cheese products alone taking out top spots – including in the best fresh ricotta, not baked category for its Emporium Selection Ricotta 375g, $2.79.
“We’re incredibly proud that our cheese and dairy offerings have been recognised as some of the highest quality products in Australia,” Aldi Australia buying director Shane Aitken told news.com.au.
“All of these awards are a testament to our local business partners that supply us with our range and their passion to create interesting and delicious cheeses.
“It is exciting that we can deliver Aussies such high quality products at such an affordable price point, and this recognition is further proof of the exceptional quality of our range.”
Aldi’s four gold-award winning cheeses included:
• Best fresh ricotta – not baked: Emporium Selection Ricotta 375g, $2.79
• Best consumer pack – mild/mature cheddar cheese: Westacre Tasty Slice 250g, $3.99
• Best cheese, white mould ripened – brie style: Emporium Selection Brie Half Wheel 500g, $10.99
• Best dairy dips – neufchatel or cream cheese or yoghurt base: Westacre Manhattan Spreadable Regular Cream Cheese 250g, $2.69
Aldi also took home a gold award for its $1.35 Farmdale Skim Milk in the modified milk – non-fat category.
Meanwhile, Woolworths took home a total of three awards – two silvers for its thickened cream and full cream milk and a gold for its skim milk.
