Fans lose it over ‘Caramilk mud cake’ at Woolworths

Woolworths customers are bombarding social media with images of this surprise $5.80 find, describing it as a “game changer”.

Just when you thought Woolworths’ iconic mud cakes couldn’t get any better, out it comes with a flavour to leave you salivating.

We all know how popular Cadbury’s Caramilk block is, but how about a combination of caramel and white chocolate in the form of a cake?

It’s safe to say the news has shoppers losing their minds on social media over the new Woolies treat.

But you better be quick because a Woolies spokesperson told news.com.au it’s only available “while stocks last”.

“OMG! All of you Caramilk chocolate fans will love this one,” one fan wrote, while holding the new Caramalised White Choc Mudcake container up to the camera.

“Oh. My. Lawdddddd,” wrote another.

“Is this real life?” a third person joked.

The admin of the Facebook group Caramilk Addicts Club went out of their way to buy the cake for “research” purposes.

“I risked my health leaving home for one of the five essential reasons so I could try the new caramelised white chocolate mud cake from Woolies. Don’t say I don’t go the extra yard for all you addicts! (P.S. the cake is delicious),” they wrote.

A TikTok user from Brisbane who goes by the handle @foodie_with_a_beauty has clocked more than 90,000 views on her video showing a shelf full of the limited-edition cake.

“Game changer,” one person commented, while others who have already tasted it described it as “so f***ing good”.

“Basically Caramilk,” one person said.

Woolworths bakery merchandise manager, Donald Keith, said the $5.80 cake, was released due to customer demand.

“Woolworths customers regularly tell us how much they love our mud cakes, so we’re excited to roll out our latest creation from the bakery,” Mr Keith told news.com.au

“Our newest Caramelised White Choc Mudcake combines the rich flavours of caramel with decadent chunks of caramelised white chocolate.

“This is a limited edition mud cake and while supplies last, so we encourage customers and mudcake fanatics to grab one while they’re available.”

Meanwhile, last year another $5 Woolies cake did the rounds on social media with one man’s TikTok video going viral.

“I GOT ONE! the new Woolworths Cookies n Cream Mudcake SUCCESS!” he captioned the hilarious video, attracting more than 70,000 likes.

It was the first time Woolies had released a cookies and cream flavoured mud cake – part of the reason for its huge attraction.
