Eye-opening McDonald’s video reveals ‘nasty’ process behind popular burger
Thousands of McDonald’s customers were left repulsed by a video showcasing how one of the chain’s popular burgers are made.
Questionable footage has displayed the “nasty” process behind creating the McDonald’s McRib burger, with many customers vowing to never order the item again.
A video shared to Twitter this week evoked repulsion from thousands of viewers after it showed frozen blocks of the “rib” product being slapped onto a grill in batches of six.
Once thawed, the items, which had been preformed into riblike shapes, were taken from the grill and placed into pullout containers filled with thick brown sauce.
The slabs were then placed on top of onion and pickles on a lightly toasted bun before being closed into a box and sent down a chute to fulfil an order.
It was unclear which store the footage was being filmed inside, however it was suspected that most stores would follow the same process.
The person to upload the video, which has been viewed more than 1.2 million times, suggested the ribs could barely be considered food.
“Can this even be considered food? A McDonald’s worker decides to reveal how a McRib is made,” their post read.

Of more than 3000 people to reply, many agreed the items didn’t look too appealing.
“I just threw up in my mouth. Just a little,” one person responded.
“It looks like a fried kitchen sponge soaked in BBQ sauce,” someone else argued.
“Wow I don’t eat pork but wow that’s NASTY,” another said.
Others were less offended and said they would continue to order McRibs at any opportunity.
“Not saying these are fine dining or anything, but … that’s just what frozen ground meat looks like. Yeah, it’s shaped and moulded to resemble (ish) pork ribs, but I’m unmoved by this. McRibs taste pretty good for what they are,” one wrote.
“This is literally how every grilled item is made at McDonald’s. I fail to see the point,” someone else said.
McDonald’s Australia does not stock the McRib.
The company has been contacted for comment on the video.
