Domino’s Double Decadence Crust features a cheese sauce made from cheddar and parmesan layered between two crispy bases and topped with mozzarella.
Dominos fans were eager to see the return of the crust, with one saying; “My fave base”.
Another said: “Yes please, cheese burst.”
“My stomach is already hurting from the lactose,” another social media user commented.
“Legit this is the pizza base from high school that I was talking about on Wednesday,” another said, tagging their pal.
Now, fans can get the crust for a limited time only, with the base being an additional $4 upgrade to any existing large pizza.
Michael Treacy, Domino’s head of product development and innovation, said the combination has stood the test of time.
“For those craving a taste of nostalgia and comfort, we’re thrilled to be reuniting fans with the beloved Double Decadence. As I always say, why have one crust, when you can have two?” Mr Treacy said.
“Each slice offers a mouth-watering sensation of wonderfully gooey cheese sauce oozing from the base as you bite into your pizza. Crust me, you need to try it.”
Meanwhile Allan Collins said it was important for the brand to listen to customer feedback.
“Some pizzas come in and out of fashion but not our Double Decadence Crust. As all good pizza connoisseurs know, the secret to a great pizza starts with the base, and this base is as mouth-watering and cheesy as they come. So it’s no surprise that our customers have been crying out for its comeback,” Mr Collins said.
“We even had one customer comment on our social channels every day for an entire YEAR asking us to bring it back – and at Domino’s, if there’s one thing we can guarantee, it’s that we always deliver.”
