Disgusting McDonald’s find leaves customer with fever and vomiting

A man has claimed he was left “vomiting” and with a fever after getting a few bites into his burger and making a stomach-turning discovery.

The after effects of a disgusting McDonald’s surprise are still haunting a man who indulged in a fast food feast over the weekend.

Queensland man Anton Vallely was hoeing into a Quarter Pounder at about 2am Saturday after having a few drinks, but his enjoyment of the meal was short-lived.

In the dark, he had about three bites into the burger before stopping to investigate the source of a suspicious taste with his phone’s flashlight.

What he saw was two patties that appeared to be only partially cooked.

“I’ve been sweating and shaking,” Mr Vallely told news.com.au, who said he had felt “wrecked” since eating the burger, which he bought from the Coolum store on the Sunshine Coast.

Almost immediately after Mr Vallely – who plays in a band – started eating the burger, he claimed to feel a strange sensation in his throat.

After realising what he had been eating, he said he began throwing up.

“I feel like there’s been a difference in my singing as well from the vomiting,” he said.

“I was sick as soon as I realised and now my throat feels weird and I’ve been sweating.”

Mr Vallely said he worried other consumers, including pregnant people, could be seriously harmed if they ate a burger like the one he was served.

“Its just not right and it’s unacceptable,” he said.

He called the store to let them know it sold him a raw burger then followed its direction to hold onto it until he could bring it back.

Mr Vallely has since taken the burger back to the store so it could investigate.

He said he had been offered a refund and a replacement but said he had been turned off eating from the fast food restaurant for the time being.

While he had been knocked around by the burger, he said he was not unwell enough to warrant a trip to the doctor.

“I don't think it’s that bad. I’m not dying or anything, but I just thought it was worth saying something,” he said.

A friend who was with him at the time was served a burger that had been cooked through, he said.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said it had received Mr Vallely’s complaint.

“McDonald’s takes food safety extremely seriously and follows strict processes and procedures to ensure the quality of our food,” they told news.com.au.

“We can confirm McDonald’s Coolum Beach received a complaint regarding an undercooked beef patty on Monday, 27 November.

“We immediately investigated the claim and offered the customer a full refund and replacement meal.

“We treat complaints of this nature very seriously and will continue to work with the restaurant on the necessary actions.”
