Crust Pizza launches a new lunchtime menu item to tempt the work crowd
Crust Pizza have launched a new lunchtime snack inspired by Italian street food and trending around the globe.
It is part sandwich, part pizza and has just been added to the lunchtime menu at Crust.
Crust has launched its Lunch Piadina, an envelope of its signature pizza dough stuffed with “crave-worthy” fillings alongside dipping sauces.
Crust’s Lunch Piadina was inspired by traditional Italian street food and a new online viral trend viewed by millions of people around the world.
The new lunch offering for diners comes in five fresh varieties that are handfolded to order, including the Crust Deli stuffed full of prosciutto, bocconcini, mortadella, cucumber, pickled red onion, mixed leaves and truffle aioli.
The Pepperoni Caprese is filled with pepperoni, bocconcini, tomato, fresh baby spinach, pesto aioli and hot honey.
Other flavours include Sicilian chicken, garlic lamb and feta, as well as a beef brisket dip.
Crust Pizza marketing manager Zak Marr said they already had amazing flavours and ingredients at Crust, and getting to use them in a brand-new way was exciting.
“We we can’t wait for our customers to get their hands on them,” he said.
Mr Marr said the launch of the new innovative piadina range was to attract and engage with the work crowd by giving them a lunch option that was truly unique, brand new and an exciting way to eat lunch.
“We want to be more accessible to more people via opening more stores for lunch and offering products suited to this time of day,” he said.
“Our Lunch Piadina is inspired by an Italian street food classic. We wanted to show pizza devotees you can dabble with pizza-esque flavours at lunch while having something nourishing and quick.
“Our Lunch Piadina is a pizza plus so much more and we think the new delicious, healthier lunch alternative will become a regular feature in people’s lunch breaks.
The Lunch Piadina range is serve hot from $11 for a single serve.
