It’s a sad day for anyone who enjoys digging into a Celebrations box of chocolates at Christmas, as the iconic brand has been stripped from the shelves.

The Mars brand of confectionary delights has been discontinued in Australia, with the company unable to keep up with rising cost pressures.

Celebrations chocolates will no longer be on the shelves at Aussie supermarkets.

“Our Celebrations products are imported from Europe and like many Australian businesses importing products from overseas, we’re experiencing rising cost pressures and supply challenges,” a Mars spokesman told 2GB on Thursday.

“We’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue Celebrations in Australia.”

The mix of chocolates has been a staple at Christmas and for any other special occasion since it launched in 1997.

However, there might be hope as the brand considers its options for the future.

“We know Celebrations is a much loved brand so we’re currently reviewing options to reintroduce Celebrations in 2025,” the spokesman said.
