A fan favourite item from one of Australia’s biggest cracker companies has a brand new look.
Arnott’s announced it would be releasing Jatz Minis — a tiny form of the iconic treat. It will come in two flavours; sea salt and cheese and garlic.
The Jatz Minis will land in Coles supermarkets and independent retailers from early February. It has a recommended retail price of $4.
And, for those in Victoria and Tasmania, Savoy Minis will be released around the same time.
“Creating a brand-new mini range of Australia’s favourite cracker in two great flavours, highlights Arnott’s constant exploration for ways to innovate and excite Aussies,” Marco Maiese, the marketing manager for Arnott’s Crackers and Crispbread range, said.
“Arnott’s Jatz is more than 70 years old and continues to be a well-loved pantry staple. With this exciting addition, we hope even more Aussies will be grabbing a box to enjoy themselves or share with friends at their next entertaining occasion.”
Arnott’s sold more than 300 million packets of biscuits throughout 2024. The brand has been tracking what has been sold, including the 10 most popular biscuits in its range.
Tim Tam Original was the most popular biscuit in 2024.
However, Tim Tams were the only sweet biscuit in the top five. It was followed by Barbecue Shapes, Chicken Crimpy Shapes, Pizza Shapes and Jatz.
Tim Tam Double Coat jumped up two spots from 2023 to sit at number six. It was followed by Salada Original, Mint Slice, Scotch Finger and Monte Carlo.
There are more than 130 types of Arnott’s biscuits and crackers. The oldest biscuits that can still be purchased are Milk Arrowroot, Arnott’s Water Crackers, SAO, Ice VoVo and Scotch Finger.
More than 13.4 million packets of Barbecue Shapes were bought in the last year. And, more than 5.5 million gluten free biscuits were purchased in 2024.
Ranita Cowled, Business Director for Treating at Arnott’s told news.com.au: “There’s nothing like a fresh bickie debate to start the week and everyone hoping their favourites will make the top 10.
“Whether it be our iconic bickies like Monte Carlo and Scotch Finger, or crowd favourites Jatz and Barbecue Shapes, it’s clear Aussies love a mix of classic, sweet, and savoury in 2024.
“It’s fitting to see that as we close out the 60th birthday year for Tim Tam that the Original flavour has taken out the coveted #1 spot!”
