Arnott’s classic biscuits now come in chocolate blocks
Stop what you’re doing Australia, your favourite Arnott’s biscuits have been taken to the next level and we could not be happier.
They say you can’t reinvent the wheel. But Australian snack brand Arnott’s has done just that.
Well, the Wagon Wheel to be precise, as well as four other childhood classics, Iced VoVo, Scotch Finger, Ginger Nut and Jatz.
The masterminds behind one of our most loved biccies have taken the iconic flavours to the next level — turning them into blocks and bars of chocolate.
“There’s no denying Aussies’ love of Arnott’s biscuits, or their love of chocolate. We wanted to combine the two and give people the best of both worlds and a new way to enjoy them,”
Arnott’s marketing manager, Pauline Mercier, told news.com.au.
“Whether it’s the delicious buttery crunch of Scotch Finger, the undeniable Wagon Wheel combination of biscuit, raspberry and marshmallow, the ever-humble coconut and raspberry from Iced VoVo, the sweet and salty combo you get with Jatz, there’s something for everyone.”
They do, however, think there will be “plenty of debate” about the Ginger Nut variety.
News of this chocolate wizardry excited the news.com.au team no end — so we put our waistlines on the line in the name of journalism to taste test the bunch. You’re welcome.
Just as Arnott’s predicted, the Ginger Nut caused a divide. This block is the only one made from dark chocolate which is mixed with the spiced ginger biscuit usually found at the bottom of the tin.
While it wasn’t the frontrunner, there were still a few ginger lovers who rated it highly.
The chocolate block creations got a thumbs up all round, but there was a clear winner — the Iced VoVo.
Blended into a milk chocolate block were the familiar flavours of raspberry and coconut, as well as crunchy biscuit bits. It was a big fat yes from us.
The Scotch Finger came in a close second. It was buttery, melted in your mouth and the taste that was true to flavour.
Arnott’s five new chocolate blocks and four new bars (the Ginger Nut variety isn’t being released in small form, so it’s only for the diehards) are made in Australia using sustainably sourced cocoa.
The price of the blocks starts from $5, making it slightly on the steep side, while the individual bars will set you back about $2.
It's not the first time Arnott’s has reinvented its family favourites.
In December the brand turned the biscuits into ice cream and just six months earlier they became cakes, available in supermarkets.
When both were released fans went wild, taking to social media in droves to rave about the creations.
After a hard day pottering around the house yelling at the TV, I've earned a treat, and that's the big hard treat of Iced Vovo icecream. #HmmmmLovely pic.twitter.com/OOz5cmnAPG

Looks like it is onto another delicious winner with these chocolate blocks which are on sale from next week.
But we’re predicting some will miss the Mint Slice in this line-up.
