American burger chain In-N-Out returns to Sydney for very limited time

Sydney-siders are lining-up in the sweltering heat to grab a cult American burger — with some even trying to cash in on situation.

Nutrition showdown: which fast food is the healthiest?

Hundreds of dedicated burger fans are queuing in the sweltering Sydney heat as a one-off In-N-Out pop-up opens in the city.

The queue is currently snaking around the block in Darlinghurst as hungry fans hope for a taste of the famous American burgers.

Staff members have handed out wristbands to the lucky few who made it to the line in time, with some cheeky people offering to “sell” their spot to passers-by.

One woman told news.com.au that she has been waiting since 10.50am and hoped she could get more than one burger “or my boss is going to kill me!”

An In-N-Out spokesperson told news.com.au the company flew out half a dozen staff members as well as their manager Eric, who is dressed as an old school diner bus boy.

Eric is currently greeting every customer personally at the door and has been walking up and down the line to say hello to fans as they wait.

The burger chain has also flown out special potatoes, which have been specifically grown in the state of Oregon to ensure an authentic American taste for Aussies.

The famous West Coast brand pop-up opened at 11am — and will only run until the burgers are all gone.

Last year’s appearance in Melbourne saw similar huge queues and a long wait — as the burgers sold-out within 30 minutes.

Jimmy’s Burgers posted about the surprise pop-up this morning, confirming Darlinghurst’s Wood and Smoke on Stanley Street as the temporary burger joint location for today.

It’s been two years since the LA fast-food legends set up shop at L’il Darlin (also in Darlo) and three years since they whipped together a few burgers at Surry Hills’ Dead Ringer, so you can bet there’s still people out there who haven’t had a taste and will be desperate to find out what all the buzz is about.

In-N-Out is popular for their basic hamburger, regular cheeseburgers and the double-double (double meat, double cheese).

Expect a one-burger-per-person policy, so don’t risk being the burger waiter for your mates.

We assume In-N-Out will stick to their basic hamburger, regular cheeseburgers and the double-double (double meat, double cheese).
