Aldi’s limited edition salted pretzel chocolate block wins praise
There’s a sweet limited-edition treat that’s hit Aldi’s shelves recently, and it tastes so good one customer said it’s “better than sex”.
Nothing sets the internet alight like an Aldi find.
From tasty cheeses that cost a fraction of the price of their French counterparts, to glorious hi-tech fridge freezers and most recently a stylish sofa bed.
But the most recent cult-item shoppers are frothing over is a humble chocolate bar, one you’d be forgiven for walking past super easily.
The product being raved about is a limited edition block of Aldi’s own Choceur, with chunky pieces of salted pretzel inside.
And judging from the reaction on social media, the stuff is to die for.
One Instagram user wrote it tastes “so good” she was glad her husband didn’t like chocolate as it meant she didn’t have to share.
While another declared the block was very “addictive”, as one person warned others to “stock up”.
On Facebook, bold declarations of love for the chocolate bar — that costs just $2.69 for 200g — have also been made, with Aldi Australia’s post on the new product generating almost 5000 comments.
“It’s better than sex,” one thrilled fan wrote.
“This is well worth it! Great value and it’s delicious! I may have already gone through 4 blocks … maybe shared, maybe not,” one reviewer declared.
“I bought it for my kids to try and I ate the whole block. I have never eaten a whole block of chocolate!!” another said.
While one person said: “This is the only item I buy from Aldi. So much better than any other chocolate.”
These are some pretty bold claims, but having tasted the stuff myself I can confirm there’s something undeniably more-ish about it.
The milk chocolate is deliciously creamy while the salt from the pretzels takes the edge off the sweetness. The chocolate is also super thick which is always a bonus.
“Uh oh, I’m in trouble,” one Facebook user wrote, and I couldn’t agree more. With the block divided into large rectangle pieces, it’s super easy to demolish way more than you realise or intended.
An Aldi Australia spokesperson told news.com.au the block was going to be on sale “until the end of the year” but added it was “only while stocks last”.
Excuse us while we dash to Aldi.
