Aldi’s ‘Le Creuset dupe’ returns for its October 13 Special Buys

A kitchen item has been dubbed “the best” Special Buys by Aldi fans is back – and it saves shoppers hundreds compared to the real deal.

If you’ve always wanted to have a set of cast iron cookware but couldn’t afford the price tag of brands like Le Creuset then it might be worth checking out Aldi today.

The German supermarket is bringing back its range of cast iron cookware as part of its Special Buys this week.

The range, which all costs $27 or less per piece, is just a fraction of the price of French cookware brand Le Creuset, which has a similar-style cast iron range that costs in the hundreds.

With cookware available in cream, blue, green and red there’s a 3.7 litre Dutch oven for $25, a French pan for $28 as well as a range of roasting trays, saucepans and frypans.

It’s possible to kit out your whole kitchen with Aldi’s cast iron range for a fraction of the price of one Le Creuset item.

One of the fancy cooking brand’s large Dutch ovens currently costs a whopping $544 at David Jones – on sale from its usual price of $680.

Aldi’s cast iron range has a massive cult following, with one person describing it as “sensational to cook with” when it last went on sale in 2020.

“I have a round cast iron pan I’ve had for years, brilliant,” one person wrote in the Aldi Fans Australia Facebook group this week.

“The best … just the best,” another commented.

Some Aldi Special Buys items are experiencing delays, so shoppers should check the supermarket’s website before heading to their local store.

Aldi’s ceramic non-stick cookware sparks frenzy

The cast iron range isn’t the only popular Aldi cookware – last month the supermarket’s ceramic non-stick cookware also proved popular.

The range of saucepans, a casserole dish, frypans and griddle came in pastel blue, pink or grey – and the most expensive item was only $20.

One shopper, Georgia Collins, shared on TikTok how she was able to pick up a range of the pots and pans in pink for under $90.

“Run to Aldi. These came out today and I’m obsessed,” she captioned the video, which has been viewed on TikTok more than 187,000 times.

Her video got more than 700 comments from shoppers keen to get their hands on their range, with one person saying they were “throwing out all my pots and pans for this” and “need this”.
